The Carpenter's safe is a Block added by Carpenter's Blocks.
It that acts as an optionally Player secured chest, meaning that it can be used to lock items away from other Players. It can store up to 27 stacks, but can be upgraded to store 54 stacks like a double chest. 'Right-click' the safe with the Carpenter's Hammer to change automation permissions. This controls whether things like pipes can insert or extract items from the safe.
'Shift+Right-click' the safe with the hammer to unlock (locked by default). When unlocked, the light on the front of the safe will turn green, and any Player will be able to access the contents of the safe. When locked, the light on the front will turn red, and only the Owner or Server Operators will be able to access or remove the safe.
The blue light strip on the bottom-left side indicates the percentage of slots filled in the chest.
The capacity of a safe may be upgraded by holding a gold ingot, emerald, or diamond and 'Shift-Right-clicking' it. This will increase the capacity to 54 slots, similar to the vanilla double chest. You can get the upgrade item back by removing the safe.
