The Inserter Upgrade: Pick Items From Ground is an item added by the Magneticraft mod. It can be placed in any of the top right 4 slots in an Inserter's GUI and, as the name implies, the Inserter will pick up items on the ground. The Inserter will not pick up objects from anything but an inventory, like a chest or machine input, or a Conveyor Belt without this upgrade installed.
