Property talk:Version

Hm, why should we have a general property for both mods and modpacks? :P Is it because nobody would search for a mod using just its version, but do vice versa - look for a version of a certain modpack or a mod?-- OstPavel (talk • contributions) 23:37, 27 June 2014 (CEST)
- Well, if we kept it separate we could #ask for all pages with a mod version property, which would return all mod pages. However that's not the point of this property, if we want all mods we should #ask Category:Mods. Pages without a version also don't get the property set, so this wouldn't be a very reliable way to use it anyway. Having one version property for all kinds of versions seems better IMO, because it can be easily reused without requiring a new property (e. g. for launcher versions), and it carries mostly the same meaning. It doesn't matter all that much if a version is for a mod or pack or launcher, if we want something's version we can just get the version property and don't have to worry about the type. (oh, and Property:Minecraft version also works for mods and packs, so this is probably best for consistency's sake.) --dgelessus (talk · contribs) 23:47, 27 June 2014 (CEST)
