Talk:Diesel Generator

Clarification needed[edit]
The sentence below is rather long and complicated. It should be divided to several sentences.
"For comparison, a bucket of Biofuel will produce 200,000 MJ in a Combustion Engine, which can be turned into EU at a rate of 4:5 (1.25 times more EU for each MJ) by generating cobblestone with an Igneous Extruder, turning it into lava with a Magma Crucible and then piping the lava (not needed if the magma crucible is attached to the thermal generator) to a Thermal Generator."
Since I don't understand the meaning of the sentence above, I can't divide it. I'll give a virtual donut to the one who can make this clear. Thx. --Minken (talk) 10:47, 31 May 2013 (CEST)
- I understand it, but I'm not sure how I could break it up without polluting the context. Basically, as an alternative to putting biofuel into a Diesel Generator, there's this process you can use, using the cheaty mechanics of the Magma Crucible's MJ to EU conversion (which has semi-recently been nerfed, so I'm not even sure if these numbers are accurate anymore), to produce more EU. Use the biofuel to power a combustion engine, which in turn powers the Magma Crucible. Throw cobblestone into the magma crucible to create lava (you can get cobblestone for free from the Igenous Extruder). Then throw the lava in a Thermal Generator (can be done with pipes). Thus, instead of the Diesel Generator, we're using the Thermal Generator, or more specifically, instead of a Diesel Generator, we're using a Combustion Engine + Igneous Extruder -> Magma Crucible -> Thermal Generator. --Kahless61 (talk) 16:24, 31 May 2013 (CEST)
- I've attempted to clarify the page, also saying that you can use blocks from the Power Converters mod to accomplish the same purpose with far greater efficiency. Hopefully this is better. DigitallyApocalyptic (talk) 18:04, 31 May 2013 (CEST)
