Talk:Redstone Energy Conduit
Just wondering if anyone knows (and whether it should be on this page) the maximum throughput on these. Can I connect a bank of 5 energy cells at one end, and a whole buttload of machines at the other end, and pump 500Mj/t down the tube?
- I don't believe there is a limit on the amount of MJ the conduit can carry. So yes, you likely could hook up 5 Redstone Energy Cells and pump 500MJ/t through the conduit. Machines impose their own input limitations however: Redstone Energy Cells and Quarries can only accept 100MJ/t while other machines max input may be lower. This means that even if you supply 500MJ/t, your machines are not guaranteed to use it all. --JjRZnmX rMHiP5FG0 (talk) 06:22, 13 February 2013 (CET)
Redpower usage warning[edit]
I propose this warning remains, and the note states what version(s) of redpower/thermal expansion it applies to. People may still be using a version with this problem and due to the serious nature of the bug I believe the note should remain. Iamtk421 (talk) 04:17, 5 May 2013 (CEST)
Magmatic Engine Bug[edit]
Hey, I have a bank of magmatic engines powering a magma crucible through conduits, and had an issue for the longest time with the whole system (eight engines, one crucible) running at a loss. Eventually, I tried rearranging things, and it turned out that the problem was that eight engines were outputting power to four conduits-- one on each side of the conduit, and that was limiting the power output to that of about four engines. Is this a known bug? I didn't see any mention of it on the page, but once I ran the conduits differently, the problem definitely resolved itself, and I didn't really change anything else. I'm running FTB Unleashed, if that makes any difference.
- It's probably an issue with the magmatic engine itself. You'll want to bring it up with that mod author. Could you post a picture of your 'broken' setup (link to imgur?)? Sign your discussion edits with four tildes (4x~) for an autosignature. Medicdude (talk) 20:29, 6 October 2013 (CEST)
Units[edit]
This mentions MJ but the conduits in the modpack I'm used to carry RF as far as I know. Is the information out of date? Does this mean the note about energy loss is also out of date? 202.68.169.126 04:29, 31 December 2014 (CET)
- Yes, it looks like this article was written for Thermal Expansion 2's energy conduits, which would be valid in Minecraft 1.4.7/1.5.2. If you're using a modpack with Thermal Expansion 3 (Minecraft 1.6.4), your energy conduits will carry RF, not MJ, and have no energy loss. You can look at Energy Conduit for information on the different energy conduits available from TE3. --timrem (talk) 05:05, 31 December 2014 (CET)
