I've attempted to breed Austeres in a Hot/Arid environment, it does not work for me (MindCrack pack 8.2.0, Extra Bees 1.5.0.6) both with Mutation Frames, and even the Nova Frame (which should give a 100% success rate); all that result are Hybrids. The Apiarist Database lists that there is a 0% chance of getting Austere in a Hot/Arid biome on the Overworld. Even if Arid/Hellish works on the Overworld, the majority of players are not going to have the ability to create such conditions without advanced tools, and would not know they had to do so without a special note.

The bee tutorials are still something of a mess, I don't think I did a very good job of explaining how selective breeding works. Embri (talk) 00:07, 6 April 2013 (CEST)
