The GregTech 4 add-on adds a variety of new Nuclear Reactor components, listed below.

Helium Coolant Cells[edit]

These are crafted like regular Coolant Cells, but with Helium Cells. They can absorb 6 times more heat than their water counterparts.

Plutonium Cell[edit]

Obtained by centrifuging large amounts of Uranium. This cell produces twice as much energy and heat with double the lifetime of a regular Uranium Cell. Per lifetime it effectively produces four times as much EU as Uranium.

Plutonium Cells can be crafted into Dual and Quad Plutonium Cells. Use the same recipe as Dual and Quad Uranium Cells, replacing the Uranium with Plutonium.

Thorium Cell[edit]

Obtained as a byproduct of centrifuging Uranium Dust, these cells produce as much EU as Uranium, but spread over a five times longer lifetime. They produce 1/5 of the Heat/Second of a regular Uranium Cell, so it's much easier to manage breeder reactors.

The most efficient setup for them is putting 2 Quad Thorium Cells and 6 Iridium-neutron reflectors together with tons of Reactor Heat Vents into a six-chamber reactor. You will get an easy auto-refuelling reactor with components that never run out (except the fuel, of course).

As of 1.36a, Thorium Cells can be produced by centrifuging depleted Uranium Cells at a 2:1 ratio; however, breeding Uranium Cells is still better.

Thorium Cells can be crafted into Double and Quad Thorium Cells. Use the same recipe as Double and Quad Uranium Cells, replacing the Uranium with Thorium.
