Talk:Feed The Beast Modpacks
Couple of suggestions[edit]
When i'm scrolling through and comparing the mods, I frequently forget the order, and I have to scroll all the way up and double-check which column is for which pack. Could we have multiple reference slots where the order shown at the top is also shown in the middle and at the bottom?
Also, could the FTB retro SMP pack be either moved all the way to the left or right, or removed altogether and simply have a note at the start of the page? It's annoying to have an entire column empty and waste all that space when a simple "FTB retro is temporarily empty" would suffice. 71.203.170.181 13:10, 1 March 2013 (CET)
- I agree with your suggestions. I'd also move Universal Electricity farther to the right since it's so different from the regular FTB modpacks. There's a couple of things that need improvement in this table. I'll see if I can get to it later today. --Artsja (talk) 14:03, 1 March 2013 (CET)
Mod names[edit]
Is there any particular reason why some mod names have hyphens in front of them? If so, it should be explained. ~ Maruno (talk) 23:00, 8 February 2013 (CET)
- Okay, I figured out they indicate sub-mods. Still, does this need to be indicated here? It breaks the alphabetical order of the list, and it only repeats information that is readily available on each mod's page anyway. ~ Maruno (talk) 00:23, 19 February 2013 (CET)
Splitting into multiple pages[edit]
I feel like this page should be split into different articles for each major Minecraft update. If we add in the 1.6 packs to the table as it stands, as an anon unsuccessfully tried to, this thing will get huge. Having a separate table for 1.4 modpacks, 1.5 modpacks, and 1.6 modpacks seems logical to me. And since having all three tables on one page would make for a very long page, I'd think separate pages would be the way to go, leaving this as a disambig to those three pages, with perhaps a full list of packs without the details. Thoughts? --timrem (talk) 18:53, 6 January 2014 (CET)
- Agreed. Some mods also only exist for certain Minecraft versions, so the version-specific tables would also be shorter. Oh, and the table is already clipping the sidebar even on my 1080p monitor with the browser maximized. --dgelessus (talk · contribs) 23:31, 6 January 2014 (CET)
- Sounds like a good idea. We may want to leave this page as a general list of all the modpacks grouped by Minecraft version, with each section linking to the specific version pages that will contain the giant comparison tables. Celestial Oblivion (talk) 10:48, 7 January 2014 (CET)
