Rod of the Shaded Mesa is an item added by the Botania mod. Holding right-click with this rod captures a mob or an item, releasing the key will drop it. Dragging the mouse with a captured entity will move it and left-clicking will throw it in the direction of the cursor. The rod consumes Mana, but doesn't have any delay between its uses. Left-clicking while holding this will not break any blocks, although it will still break away things like grass and strike entities as if it were an empty-handed punch. When activated on another player in a multiplayer setting, the affected player is not moved or held but instead suffers severe nausea effects.
